2021.10.25 20:03 JetTheBlueSpirit Should I keep my LLC? I work a W-2 and have occasional freelance projects.
So I opened up an LLC in April this year with the intention of becoming a full-time freelance designer. I had a short 1099 contract and made roughly $10,500 from client work. I also collected unemployment this year until I found a full-time gig. Should I continue to keep the LLC if I'd rather be an employee? My freelance/contract gigs per year don't really exceed $3k usually, this year has been an exception. Still really new to owning my business and not sure how to use it to my advantage while still working a W-2. How much should I aim to earn per year in order to justify keeping it?

The fallout sale is happening on Steam right now, the last Fallout I played was Fallout New Vegas but I haven't played Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
So I was thinking of picking one game, I'm mostly playing singleplayer and I might install a few mods here and there.
I heard Fallout 76 is pure garbage when it came out but maybe things have changed now.. I don't know?

2021.10.25 20:03 coolfrog1101 Provisionally passed at 100q's in 110 minutes (first attempt)
Hi folks! I provisionally passed CISSP on 10/22/21 at 100 questions. This was my first attempt.
Big shoutout to this subreddit, as I wouldn't have known what resources to use in my studies without you guys. Also, thank you to everyone who has posted about their testing experience. Reading about your guys' experiences always gave me the morale boost to believe that it would be possible for me to pass one day too.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, and have Security+, CySA+, CCNA, and AWS Cloud Practitioner. Having CCNA knowledge really helped me out with the Communications and Network Security domain, but it's not a necessity to pass.
I have 4 years of paid IT experience, and will be substituting 1 year of experience with my Bachelor's degree. My manager at work will be endorsing me for the certification. This is my work experience:
1) 1.5 years as a SOC Analyst (This is the role I'm working in currently) 2) 1 year as an infrastructure admin (I got a combination of networking and virtualization experience in this role) 3) 1 year as a service desk analyst 4) 0.5 years as an A/V (Audio/video) technician
My Resources (In order of when I worked through them):
1) Kelly Handerhan's Cybrary Course 2) Eleventh Hour Book 3) Sybex CISSP Official Study Guide (9th edition) -- I tried to read this cover to cover and couldn't. I read 5 chapters, and ended up using the book as reference for anything I didn't know. I ended up perusing the table of contents for any sections I didn't recognize/feel confident in, and only read those sections. 4) CISSP MindMaps (Youtube): https://www.youtube.com/playlist? list=PLZKdGEfEyJhKWyryIvx_jm1jn6ZMTi7gW 5) Boson Practice Exams -- I only did 1.5 of these tests before giving up on them. I felt the content was too deep in the weeds for my tastes, however, I know this has been a reliable resource for a LOT of people. I would say as you're going through your studies, you will figure out what resources click with you and which ones don't. If a resource isn't helping you, don't be afraid to try something else. We all have different learning styles. 6) Sybex Official practice tests
7) Kelly Handerhan's "Why you will pass CISSP": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Y6Zog8h2A
8) Andrew Ramdayal "CISSP Testing Secrets All Students should know" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CanT50bzEV0 **This video is SUPER crucial to helping me navigate the questions and pass! Brush up on this video right before taking the test.
My Thoughts / Experience
The test wasn't as difficult as I was expecting, and I generally felt good about my prospects of passing. However, you do need to have the right mindset about how to navigate the questions, and I attribute that to my success. It doesn't matter much you study or how much you know if you don't know how to strategically navigate the questions and answers, and as everyone says, you need to think like a manager.
Andrew Ramdayal's video will really help you out with this. The two biggest takeaways from his video for me were: "if one choice does the others, then that is the answer" and "if you are doing that choice, you are not doing the others". Additionally, there were a few questions where it came down to two choices: either a technical or managerial answer. Make sure to remind yourself to pick the managerial answer in these situations. This test felt more like an English comprehension test, and you almost have to read the questions like a lawyer to truly understand what they are asking for. Apply the techniques that Kelly and Andrew mention in their videos, and the correct answer will become much easier to pick out.
Other tips: Always think about what the long term or end game solution should be when picking an answer, and think of yourself as a risk advisor giving a suggestion to management, not as an engineer solving a technical problem.
I studied for this test for about 3.5 months. To be honest, I procrastinated a fair bit and only spent about an hour each week day, and ramped up to about 6+ hours per day about a week and a half out from my test date. You can definitely pass it sooner than 3.5 months if you can dedicate at least a couple of hours a day to studying.
Lastly, as everyone says, don't be concerned about memorizing, but be concerned about knowing and understanding the concepts. You don't need to memorize every fire extinguisher class or every NIST publication, but make sure you know your processes (Ex: Risk management, BCP, SDLC, etc.) and know what order each step should happen.

2021.10.25 20:03 manoGod74 Tell Me About Your Current Relationship With The Organized Church.
I'm trying to discern what sort of church would be a good fit for me. I'm tend to be both theologically and politically conservative. I've been away from church for several years. My last pastor (whom I've kept in touch with all of these years) he discouraged me from sharing my SSA struggle with people at the church. That was so hard on me and discouraging. Also back then, I visited a newer more progressive evangelical church that was targeting itself towards the GLBT community and I took communion there and when I told my home church pastor my he said that I might have partaken in the table of demons when I went there. NOTE: I very rarely take communion because I don't feel like my heart is in the right place or that I'm worthy to partake in the Lord's table and I cried the whole time that I did take communion at that gay lesbian friendly church. As I said I'm a more conservative person but I find that there's so much venom and hatred at times towards homosexuals in conservative churches that I'm afraid I just wouldn't fit.
